Two minutes ago, I ordered a pack of twelve pens (Uni-ball Jetstream, in case you’re interested) from Amazon.co.uk. They’re my favourite pens EVER — they’re gel-based, but are designed to write like rollerball pens — and they got me through the exams last year with nary a complaint from me. And I’m quite picky with my pens. Sharon and I chanced upon them at the Ryman’s in Charing Cross during a stationery-run just before the exams, and I’ve stuck with them ever since. Brand loyalty, yo!
My last pen of this kind just landed on the floor with a loud THUMP, and it may just be my imagination, but it doesn’t write the way it used to. The ink doesn’t flow out from the rollerball as smoothly as it used to now, and I’m upset because I can’t find them anywhere in London now. It’s as if all the Rymanses across the city have sold out their entire Jetstream stock and can’t be bothered to reorder them for customers like me.
Hence, the spontaneous Amazon order.
… Sometimes, my spending habits are hard to explain.
And I accept that.

You should also check out CultPens.com if you haven’t done so already. Here is their Jetstream page: http://www.cultpens.com/acatalog/Uni-Ball_Jetstream.html

Oh, I do that all the time…like buying unnecessary stuff online through amazon and ebay. Though at least you have a…sort of valid reason for buying those pens! I once bought toothpase through ebay. It was empowering.
